March 31, 2023 Update:
You are invited to watch this very special reel about how the illustrations of the book came to be. The images initially came from original color photos that uniquely transformed to black and white. And then, like magic, they became artistic drawings! Enjoy the creative process!

The Book, The Statue, and The Children…

During the past weeks, I have completed three photo sessions with adorable little ones, the General, and my book.  Surprisingly, every shoot has unfolded in manners that were unique and personal to each child. I did not directly pose…I followed their sweet interactions and snapped the spontaneity. General Vallejo, the children, and the book created moments beyond my expectations! Events

Sonoma Preschool Academy:
On March 9th, 2022, two fun and lovely readings of the book. The adorable children were so responsive and the teachers, so kind and involved. Lots of discussion and laughter

These photos were taken at the second class:

Special thanks to the faculty and Debbie Pulizzano. The clip below is part of a kind thank you email received from one of the teachers. I hope that, when the children share their drawings and the “BE HAPPY” rock, they will remember Samuel, Gigi, and their Baba…and continue with many more adventures.

These final drawings are examples of an art exercise where the children color their special interpretation of their “magical tree”. It never ceases to amaze and touch me.

A truly wonderful morning spent at the North Marin Community Services reading to a most vibrant class of Pre-K and Kindergarteners. They were so engaged and excited and it was thoroughly enjoyable to meet their teacher and learn more about the non-profit. Special thanks to Karen Strain @xoxojamaren for your generosity and support. When I left, one of the little girls gave me a big hug and said she loved me. Warmed my heart and expressed my mutual admiration. I wanted the book to have an impact on community support. I left with a smile and truly a sense of contributing. Thank you to all!!!

Special, special thanks to all who came to the reading at the Majestic View Park in Arvada, Colorado on September 10th, 2021. So grateful and appreciative of the support. It was very special to be back at the inspiration for the “magic tree”.

Fun morning on September 12th, at Porter Children’s Center in Denver with a book reading and activities. Happy to donate the book to their library. Gigi was happy and excited, as was I.

As well, check the events schedule and do join me as I share the book in your city/area. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to meet and broaden the impact of this little book! Very exciting!

Would your organization/preschool/store like me to present the book? I am happy to do so.

The Summer that it All Started Image

The Summer that Started it All…

Samuel And The Magic Tree tells the adventures of a grandmother and her two little grandchildren during their daily walks to the wonderful Majestic View Nature Center in the town of Arvada, Colorado. This sprawling “park” offers nature trails, wetland areas, and prairie ecosystems to explore. Only blocks away from the children’s home, it was a gift of discovery. Their little journeys ultimately offered opportunities for exploration, imagination, and very special moments of sharing and laughter…

This book is dedicated to my grandchildren: Violet, Olive, Samuel, and Genevieve and all the very special days shared with their Baba.

Charitable Donations

In recognition of the significant contribution that the Majestic Nature Center played in this book, I have decided to donate 20% of all direct sales profits to parks and nature centers that offer opportunities for exploration, learning, and love of nature in young children and their families. It is important to honor and support the significant role that these beautiful landmarks offer.
